The German Polka Band, founded by Dr. Jim Heyl in 2007, performs fast waltzes and polkas, and features comedy as part of their entertainment. The ensemble is composed of 8 to 12 musicians and plays for church groups, Ocktober Fest parties, and civic functions. It features a banjo and a long mountain horn!. Dr. Heyl is a retired professor from UGA. He joined the CCB in 1977.
